The 31st annual youth camp at Shri Surya Narayan Mandir marked a significant milestone, attracting a record number of campers since its revival post-COVID-19. This year’s theme, the Nav Grahas, provided an enriching experience for all participants.
Throughout the camp, campers immersed themselves in learning the Nav Graha Stotram and the powerful Maha Mritunjaya Mantra.
The camp featured an array of enlightening presentations. “Hinduism 101” offered a comprehensive overview of the religion’s core beliefs and practices, while the session on the “16 Samskaras” delved into the essential rites of passage that shape a Hindu’s life. CoHNA (Coalition of Hindus of North America) conducted an insightful presentation on Hindu history, emphasizing the rich and diverse heritage of Hinduism. Additionally, a practical finance presentation provided valuable knowledge, equipping campers with essential skills for managing their future finances.
This year’s camp was not only about learning and spirituality but also about rekindling friendships and building new connections within the community. The record turnout highlighted the enduring appeal and importance of the camp, emphasizing its role in nurturing the next generation of Hindu leaders.
As the 2024 youth camp came to a close, participants left with a deeper understanding of their culture, a strengthened spiritual foundation, and memories that will last a lifetime. The Shri Surya Narayan Mandir annual youth camp continues to be a beacon of tradition, education, and community, inspiring young Hindus to embrace and cherish their cultural roots.
