Shri Surya Narayan Mandir’s own son Dr. Anand Hardowar presented on the changing values in society and how applicable the values of Ramayan are today. Dr. Anandji indicated that studying the scriptures (Ramayan) is one way to remind ourselves of our values.
He compared values in today’s society and highlighted:

  • The role and duty of a son in the Ramayan, where Lord Ram upholds his father’s promise – Kaikehi’s request.
  • The role of a brother – no jealousy existed between the brothers (half-brothers) only humility and nobleness.

He also stated that the foundation of a family is love, mutual respect and affection. It is parents’ role to lay a strong foundation and to mold the minds of children so that they can approach the world with the right attitude and set of values.
Dr. Anandji concluded with believing that mothers should impart the scriptures to infants even while the child is in the womb.

All Devotees of Shri Surya Narayan cooperated and made this event another successful presentation.
