SN SOS extended its helping hands once again. On 5/30/2010 it awarded a 2010-11 Scholarship to Dindial Mohan, a deserving student of No. 50 Village, Corentyne, Berbice. Dindial was selected based on a number of factors: (i) he is currently a Hindu priest in his community; (ii) he is a teacher at Tagore Memorial Secondary School; (iii) he is the bread-winner of his family, consisting of his mother and grandmother; and (iv) he has successfully passed eight subjects at the GCE O’Levels and CXC examination. Although Dindial is already accomplished at this young age and despite the many hurdles he is faced with, he is still committed to further his studies at the University of Guyana. Based on this commitment and the many other positive factors, SN SOS is of the belief that Dindial is a role-model who will be an invaluable asset to his community, and thus a perfect candidate for the scholarship. The members of SN SOS would like to congratulate Dindial Mohan on this well deserved Scholarship and wish him continued success. Pandit Ram Hardowar, a Director of SN SOS and Spiritual Acharya of Shri Surya Narayan Mandir remarked that with Saraswati Ma’s blessings the scholarship should enable Dindial to continue his educational endeavors so that he can achieve his individual goals as well as increase his contribution to society.
The Scholarship was provided in one-time payment of $800 (US Dollars) to the recipient on 7/4/2010 at the 48th Village Mandir by Kedar Singh, a Member of SN SOS.
