Pt. Anand Hardowar is a grandson of the late Pandit Hardowar Panday, founder and Dharmacharya of Shri Surya Narayan Mandir (SSNM). He is a son of Pandit Ram Hardowar, Spiritual Leader of SSNM. With the formation of SSNM in 1993, and as a young boy, he was immersed in Sanatan Dharma through satsang/yagya/Hindi class/vedanta class/camps etc. at the Mandir. During his studies of Sanatan Dharma he has been continuously guided by his Guruji, Pt. Satyanand Sukul and his father. The modest knowledge and insight into the shastras that he has gained has been a direct result of the teachings of his Guruji, father and grandfather. His sole focus at SSNM is to give to his community in any form asked of him. He serves as both a Pandit and executive at SSNM. He is also a member of the executive committee of Surya Narayan Seva Outreach Sang. In his spare time, he works as an Attending Physician of Emergency Medicine at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He is board certified in Emergency and Internal Medicine.
